CLINICAL DATA
-Clinical description: comparison of two maturation stages of embryonic nit of Pediculus Capitis.
Hairs were been mounted on paper and photographed immediately after harvesting,
but they come from different patients.
Subsequently images were digitally matched to facilitate comparison and therefore
they reflect different photographic conditions.
-Dermoscopic description: left nit has a uniformly tensed shell that enclosed a uniform amorphous material. Immature embryo.
Right nit, inside embryo there are two markers associated to advanced maturity: eye-macula and claws.
In the central part of the nit it can appreciate a "brown body" that corresponds to the thoraco-abdominal
part of the insect. Mature embryo.
-Comment: although dermatoscope is digitally assisted (camera), it allows detection of some organs embryo,
defining the mature stage in vitro.
